About

Ben Stafford is a folk singer/songwriter based in Lancashire, North West of England. Brought up listening to The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell just to name a few, Ben blends these musicians with modern artists such as Ben Howard, to give a very unique style of playing, and writing.

Having grown up surrounded by the countryside, and spending most of his summers down on the sunny south west coast in Cornwall, Ben incorporates these picturesque scenes in his writing, very fitting with his melodic and calming guitar style of playing.

Ben started recording demos for his debut single in winter 2020, and by the time spring arrived, he had already finished recording on his debut single Open Arms. The song was mixed down in Devon and was released on May the 8th 2020, on all streaming platforms.

Soon after the release of his debut single Open Arms, Ben started recording and producing his second single. Prior to the release of his next single ‘As One’, Ben got his first ever radio play, with BBC Radio Lancashire playing ‘As One’ in June 2020.

On July 10th, Ben released his second single ‘As One’ on all streaming platforms. Lancashire based music reviewer and blog The M Word, had this to say about the single, “Lancashire’s answer to Ben Howard. It’s perfectly crafted, as each of Ben’s releases are, stunning and perfect to listen to”

In August 2020, Ben started recording and producing songs for his first EP, ‘The Goose Rock EP’. With help from Tom Hale, from the Preston based band The Empire Police, who mixed and mastered the tracks.
